Part Five: Himalayan Faces

At Namche Bazaar, I stayed at a place called Namaste Lodge. It's run by a Sherpa family. In the daytime, the master and his wife are usually not around. There is an old man and his ...Hey, boy! Quit playing with my films or I'll shoot you with my camera.

This Sherpa boy at Lukla sure knows how to "act big". The children here are so unrestrained yet not spoilt. Who knows? Maybe he'll summit Everest when he grows up.

This guy is really a baby. Why are there so many children on this page. Can't help it. I love children - as long as they are not crying, not wetting their pants and ... not mine!

From exquisite temple carvings, Newari windows, Tibetan thangka to flowering rapeseed fields, beauty in the Kathmandu Valley is presented in many forms. With modernisation, ancient temples crumble, artists turn typists and mountain paths become strewn with litter. Perhaps the beauty of Nepalese women would be the last to go.
